This network appliance sits behind the organization's firewall, and because it communicates via open standards over the network, it is completely independent of any internal systems. The appliance offers the benefits of the fully hosted versions of Intelligenx technology, including a superior search experience through categorized result sets and a more elegant way to managed data subsets. The appliance works off of native XML and is easily adaptable to indexes directly from database or document repositories. Discovery Engine Application Programmers Interface For those organizations looking for a complete software solution to integrate into their existing software products, Intelligenx licenses a version of the Discovery Engine software that is accessible through an API. This API allows application programmers to produce indexes from databases within their organizations, to develop customized taxonomies, and to make search requests and deliver the results to end-users.
